Meet Your Farmer
Red Manse Farm, Loudon, is operated by Earl and Alice Tuson, as well as their three sons. The farm grows organic produce on the 250 year old, 74 acre property. The Tuson’s are committed to extending the season of locally grown produce.
In addition to popular summer vegetables, the Tuson’s focus on storage crops such as winter squash, beets and potatoes. These late harvest crops increase the possibility of eating NH produce year round. A testament to the Tuson’s thoughtful ingenuity, they began offerings shiitake mushrooms cultivated on oak logs in 2008. Very soon they will be able to offer organic tree fruits from the orchards they established in 2007, which feature disease resistant varieties of antique apples, Asian pears, pears and cherries.
Aside from a traditional CSA, Red Manse Farm offers a farm patron program. This program is a more flexible option because there is not set amount or specific delivery day. In keeping with the mission to make local produce available year round Red Manse Farm offers a fall/winter CSA.
