Carpaccio to Host Third Dinner in the NH Growers' Dinner Series

Carpaccio Ristorante Italiano of Hanover will be the site of the third New Hampshire Growers' Dinner in the 2006 series of special dinner events that highlight the use of local farm and food products at local restaurants. Chef/Owner, Giovanni Leopardi, will be directing the evening's culinary activities.

Chef Leopardi is a native of Turin, Italy and apprenticed with some of the best chefs in Northern Italy before setting off to see the world. He has held the position of Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef at fine restaurants around the world, including several in the United States. He has also owned restaurants in Florida and New Hampshire (The Inn at Potter Place). Chef Leopardi creates seasonally inspired menus which feature imaginative and exotic culinary treats.

The NH Growers Dinner at Carpaccio is set for August 7 and Chef Leopardi plans to use red deer, buffalo, brook trout, goat cheeses and other dairy products, seasonal produce and more, to create a delicious multi-course meal.

Growers' Dinner events are coordinated by the New Hampshire Farm to Restaurant Connection, a program linking New Hampshire farms with New Hampshire restaurants. The Growers' Dinner at Carpaccio is the third in the 2006 series of five New Hampshire dinners and one New Hampshire breakfast being held from July to November.
